Because we did it ourselves. RTM Fulfilment was born out of frustration with our own fulfilment partners. So we built the partner we wished we'd had back then, fast, transparent, personal.

Our story

From attic room
to a Rotterdam warehouse.

Four chapters in four years. Same principle: personal, honest, and always hands-on on the work floor.

1 2022 · the start

A laptop, a printer, and a few boxes.

It started at home. A small front-facing room, a trestle table, and the first parcels we shipped for other webshops. No scanner. No warehouse software. No team.

What we did have: the conviction that fulfilment could be more personal and more honest than what we experienced as webshop owners ourselves. Impersonal service, hidden costs, partners only focused on the Netherlands, we wanted to fix that.

2 the move to Rotterdam

Our own premises, closer to the port.

The home office got too small. Stacks of boxes up to the ceiling, and no room for a second team member. Time for our own building, one in a strategic location.

3 today · a complete operation

Pallet racks from floor to ceiling.

What once was a corner of a room is today a warehouse with pallet racks reaching the ceiling, a forklift, an import desk and a permanent team that personally handles every parcel.

No blackbox fulfilment, tangible logistics with a family heart. Inbound containers are unloaded directly at our warehouse, no middlemen, no extra steps. One partner, one rate, one dedicated team.

RTM was founded by brothers Jordy and Sven Schilten. In the photo: co-founder Sven with our warehouse manager Marco, over 30 years of logistics experience on the work floor. This is RTM in one image: hard work, real pride in the product, no nonsense.

Problem 01

Impersonal automation

At big fulfilment centers personal attention disappears behind automated processes. Custom shipping requests are often impossible. At RTM you get one dedicated contact who knows your process inside out.

Problem 02

Hidden costs

Many providers use unclear rates where the real costs only show up on the invoice. We work with all-in rates, what you see is what you pay.

Problem 03

Netherlands-only focus

Fulfilment centers often focus too much on the Dutch market, with high international shipping costs and long delivery times. We ship worldwide at competitive rates.

Problem 04

No import handling

Importing from supplier to fulfilment center via middlemen is cumbersome and expensive. We have an import desk with a forwarder. Containers are unloaded directly at our warehouse.
